Ryan Cavanaugh

Ryan is a master’s student in communication studies and graduate student debate coach at KU. Competing in the Chicago Debate League and at the University of Iowa, Ryan received numerous recognitions for competitive success including speaker awards at every national college tournament, semifinals of the 2022 CEDA National Championship, octafinals of the 2023 National Debate Tournament, 6th speaker at the 2024 CEDA National Championship, and 17th speaker at the 2024 NDT. Since then, Ryan has coached teams at the high school and college level to national success including a first-round at large bid and numerous wins at NAUDL, the TOC, CEDA, and the NDT.
